Man, Aged 31, Shoulder/ neck injury following a funfair ride
6 Years ago I was diagnosed with severe Whiplash and damaged vertebrae, no it wasn't a car accident it was after visiting a Theme park in Spain!!
After several days I was referred onto a Physiotherapist where for 3 months I was attending 3 times a week, for a further 3 months I attended 2 times a week then for a further 12 months once a week, until at which point I was told that there was nothing further they could do, and just to go back when the pain gets too bad. Thank god I had PPP otherwise it would have cost me almost £4000.00!
Since completing the Physio treatment I have always been in pain, some days worse than others, but it has always been there. Most days I would find myself taking painkillers (ibuprofen) at least once a day, and after taking these constantly for several years they began to start causing me stomach problems.
After talking to a few colleagues at work that have been to Clare for treatment I decided to give it a go (although I was very sceptical). The treatment (The Bowen Technique) consisted of very gentle rolling movements on the body. After completing my first treatment I was even more sceptical as I am so used to the painful procedures of the Physio.
On waking up the following morning I could still feel pain in my back but it was far less painful than usual, coincidence I thought. Over the next few days the pain carried on to subside, and not only that I actually felt a renewal of energy. That first week I did things I haven't done in a long time, I played squash, went ten pin bowling and drove a lot of miles and even more important I took NO painkillers!
After my third treatment most days I have felt no pain at all, I have still taken no painkillers since my first treatment and now have a massively higher quality of life. My kids are delighted as well with the fact that I can now do things with them that for the last 6 years I have not been able to. I only wish I had heard about this treatment 6 years ago!
